Three-Year-Old Preschool

The K3 (three-year-old preschool) class operates 5 days a week from 8:05 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. A half-day attendance option is available. The program provides structured learning combined with play through social and emotional development, in addition to, Bible, phonics, numbers, and handwriting.  This setting helps children develop a drive to learn in a school setting and prepares the course for future schooling. This program offers a positive educational experience that helps develop a child’s mind, body, and spirit, while encouraging good habits. Children must be three years old by September 1 of the school year to enroll and fully potty-trained.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

Bible: Bible is integrated throughout the whole day. Bible time is set aside for the children to learn Bible lessons, memory verses, and to have prayer time. Lessons are combined with colorful visuals, stories, and reenactments to help reinforce the concept of the lessons.

Phonics: Students are taught each upper- and lower-case letter of the alphabet, as well as the sound each letter makes. This is a progressive learning experience. It is not a “focus” but a repetitive action that happens throughout the day in preparation to K4.

Language: Students will learn simple sign language.

Numbers: Students practice counting, number concepts for 1-10, graphing, and measurement using standing and non-standard units. Students are provided with hands-on materials and opportunities to introduce them to comparing, sorting, and sequencing.

Social/Emotional Skills: Social/ Emotional skills are the foundation of learning. This is a primary focus in K3. The idea of K3 is to become prepared for the following years. Students will learn to respond to different aspects, behavior, others, sharing, and emotions. Interacting with peers, parallel play, dramatic play, being in a social environment are key elements in K3.

Readiness Skills: Students participate in a variety of age-appropriate activities to encourage development. Activities include manners training, large and small group activities, movement to music, rest time, art projects, and much more. Our K3 program is the ideal model program in preparation to K4.

Four-Year-Old Preschool

The K4 (four-year-old kindergarten) class operates 5 days a week from 8:05 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. A half-day attendance option is available. The program provides a positive educational experience that will help develop each child’s mind, body, and spirit. The daily schedule is filled with age-appropriate activities that help each child grow not only academically, but also socially, emotionally, and physically. Children are provided instruction that encourages good habits and establishes a strong foundation for future schooling. Children must be four-years-old by September 1 of the school year to enroll.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

Bible: Biblical principles are integrated throughout every aspect of the program. Time is set aside each day for teaching Bible lessons. Often, hands-on activities provide application for the lessons.

Phonics: Students learn each upper and lower case letter of the alphabet along with the phonetic sound. Initial consonant and vowel sounds along with rhyming words are practiced throughout the year.

Handwriting: Instruction is given on proper grip, posture, spacing, and paper position while writing. Students learn to correctly print their own names. Proper formation of the upper and lower case letters and numbers 1-20 are practiced.

Numbers: Students practice counting by ones and tens up to 100. Measurement concepts such as more/less, longer/shorter, heavier/lighter, time, and temperature are taught. Students practice counting, forming, and identifying sets up to 20 along with patterning and graphing.

Readiness Skills: Students participate in a variety of age appropriate activities to encourage development socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically, and academically. Activities include manners training, large group playtime, small group learning centers, movement to music, rest time, art projects, and much more.

Science: Hands-on experiments help students learn more about God’s amazing creation. Science topics include animals, seasons, the solar system, magnets, the five senses, weather, and plant life cycles.

Specials: Weekly K4 students have special classes in physical education, art, music, and library.
